Antwyne Morgans was established in 1982 with the purchase of 2 Morgan mares, Woodside Wendy Field and Woodside Vanessa, from the Stewart Ranch in Olema, California. But the true beginnings of Antwyne Morgans, like many other horse related endeavors, originated in the hopes and dreams of one horse crazy little girl who never grew out of her passion for all things equine. I truly believe that my first words were probably “I want a pony”. Since those first Old Government/Brunk bred mares arrived, 31 Morgan horses have graced our pastures, 21 of them with the Antwyne prefix.

When asked why I chose Morgans, after years of ownership of horses of other breeds, my answer at first was that I felt that they were the perfect combination of beauty and strength, with the added reputation for versatility and soundness….but as the years went by, I came to the realization that they not only pleased the eye, but they were also pleasing to the the spirit. It was their intense connection to their humans, their intelligence and their mischievous sense of fun that has drawn me to the Morgan horse for almost 30 years. And it is these qualities, along with the admission that I do like a pretty, trainable, kind horse, that I have tried to concentrate in the “Antwyne Morgan”.

Antwyne Morgans have been winning show horses in the In-Hand, Pleasure Driving, English Pleasure, and Hunter Divisions. They have pulled fancy carriages in our local 49’ers Day Parade, brought a bride and groom to their wedding in the meadow, and have been steady trail partners in the mountains that surround our Methow Valley farm. They have put countless smiles on the faces of children and elders alike, proving that they are a horse for all the seasons of our lives. And they have been faithful friends in good times and sad times.

So welcome to Antwyne Morgans, and get ready to meet our Morgan family. We usually have a few horses of all ages for sale, and of course some who never will be, having earned their place through years of loyal service. These horses will be marked with a NFS notation, but if you see one that just steals your heart who is not on the Sale Page, with the exception of those, don’t be afraid to ask. Yours just might be the home they have been hoping to find.
